Executive Director, Renewable Africa Initiative
Hadiza Abdulmumini is the Founder and Executive Director of the Renewable Africa Initiative (RAI), providing strategic leadership for the organisation’s programmes, partnerships, and institutional engagement. Her work focuses on advancing people-centred energy transitions by connecting community energy realities with policy implementation, project development, and investment readiness across Africa.
She has contributed to international energy and sustainable development processes through collaboration with governments, multilateral institutions, and global energy platforms, championing practical approaches that translate policy ambition into inclusive implementation.
Efua Nyamekye Appiah
Lead Policy Analyst, Energy Transitions & Country Support
Efua leads RAI’s policy analysis and country engagement portfolio, delivering research and technical analysis on energy transition policies, climate governance, and implementation pathways across Africa.
Brian Kakembo Galabuzi
Advisor, Market Innovation & Productive Use
Brian advises RAI on productive use of energy, clean energy entrepreneurship, and market-driven approaches to expanding energy access. His work focuses on strengthening local energy economies by linking clean energy investments with enterprise development, job creation, and community resilience.
He brings extensive experience in clean energy innovation, youth entrepreneurship, and sustainable business development across Africa.
Golder Mukami
Head of Communications & External Partnerships
Golder leads RAI’s communications, stakeholder engagement, and external partnerships. She oversees organisational communications, institutional visibility, knowledge dissemination, and relationship management with partners across the public, private, and development sectors.
Her experience spans energy, strategic communications, project management, conference coordination, and stakeholder engagement, supporting collaborative initiatives that strengthen Africa’s energy transition ecosystem.
Salmah Abdulmumin
Programme Officer, Operations & Institutional Support
Salma coordinates programme operations and institutional support across RAI. She contributes to programme administration, organisational coordination, communications, event management, and stakeholder engagement, helping ensure the effective delivery of organisational activities and partnerships.
Her background in communications, research, and programme support strengthens RAI’s operational effectiveness and internal coordination.
Desmond Igwe
Data & Research Analyst, Localized Energy Intelligence
Desmond contributes to RAI’s research and analytical work by producing data-driven insights that inform policy, project development, and investment decision-making. His work includes community energy assessments, policy research, data analysis, and localized energy intelligence to strengthen implementation-oriented energy solutions across Africa.
He supports the organisation’s mission of translating local energy realities into actionable evidence for governments, development partners, and clean energy practitioners.
